We first met Ewart through our local Labour party, where he actively participated in discussion in local branch meetings and socials. We became friendly with Ewart and Denise and enjoyed hearing about their family, interests and travels to Scotland, particularly Barra and the Outer Hebrides. Ewart was a sensitive, gentle man, who was very generous and caring. He had a positive outlook on life and was philosophical. Even though he suffered ill health for years I never heard him complain about his situation. We have fond memories of Ewart and will miss him.
