hello everyone. In these strange times its so good to be able to share memories of Ewart. He had been ill for so long that many people didn’t know him as he used to be, but I’m now hearing from folk who did and its great. We have to have a COVID stripped down funeral so this page is our chance to do more sharing of what we knew about Ewart. Here is a potted version from me.

I met him in Wakefield in 1976 when we were both working at Stanley Royd (Psychiatric) hospital. We went to Cardiff together, and spent 7 years there, during which Alice and Peter were born. We moved to the north east in 1986, when Alice was 6 and Peter was a baby. We have lived on Osborne Road ever since. Ewart was a cyclist, a green person, a cook, a baker of lovely bread, a socialist and a singer. He was a quiet pioneer in building new lives for people who had been in institutions, courageous in his whistle blowing. He was one of the first of his profession to work with general practice both in Cardiff and then in Newcastle. He was well known to Peter’s and Alice’s friends who were often with him after school and in the holidays. It’s been great to hear from some of them. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother and brother in law. Could go on
